Birstall Burglaries (2)

March 24, 2018

On Friday 23rd March a house on Whiles Lane (facing the canal) was burgled.  At 11.30am two males were seen leaving the property by a neighbour walking her dog and they called the police.  The suspects made off on bikes along the towpath onto Watermead Park in the direction of Meadow Lane.  Entry was by smashing the glass in a side door, it is believed that jewellery was stolen.

Also on Friday 23rd between 8.00am and 4.15pm, a house on Stonehill Avenue (close to Hannah Parade) was burgled.  Entry was by forcing rear patio doors and jewellery and small electrical items were stolen.

Were you in either of these areas (or maybe walking in Watermead Park) around these times, did you see or hear anything suspicious ?  Please report any information by dialling 101 the police non-emergency number.
